How it works

Engineered to get you found.

Six stages, every morning, in the open. What each one does, what it will never do, and why it gets better every month.

  1. 01 · Plan

Every article starts with evidence, and ends with a result.

At five each morning it reads what Google reported overnight: the searches your site is already shown for with no page to answer them, the questions AI assistants answered without naming you, the articles that earned clicks. One decision, one reason, written where you can read it. Fourteen days later the same reason gets its answer: where the article now ranks for the search it was chosen for.

    • 1decision a day, made from the evidence
    • Everypick shown with its reason

  2. 02 · Research

Facts from the source. Never from your competition.

It searches the web for what the article needs and cites where every fact came from: regulators, platforms, press, studies. A competitor's page is never a source. Known rivals are off the search, every other domain is classified before the writer sees it, and no link to a competitor can leave your site.

  3. 03 · Write

Written in your voice. Illustrated in your brand.

Your tone, spelling and audience, read off your own pages. Your real projects as the examples, taken in turn so no client is cited twice in a row. A cover drawn in your palette from a brief about this article, and never the same picture twice.

Measured in Google's own numbers. And in the AI's answers.

    Improvements that cannot hurt.

A search Google already shows an article for, that no section answers, gets a section: added, never rewritten, on the page it belongs to. An article already on page one is never rewritten. Every change is measured at 14 and 28 days, and put back if it slipped.

  7. 07 · And then

    It only gets better.

Every morning it knows more than the morning before. Month one runs on what your site says. Month two runs on your own Google numbers. From month three, every article has been measured against the window before it, and the improvements are chosen from that. The longer it runs, the sharper each choice, and the more each article has behind it.

Who makes it

Built by a studio, for founders.

We built sites for founders for years and watched the same thing happen every time: the site went live, nobody told Google it existed, half the pages were never looked at, and the writing stopped after two posts. Not carelessness; nobody had told them it mattered. Meant SEO is the list we ran by hand for clients, turned into something that runs every morning.

One storefront we built grew monthly sales 18× with no paid ads; every rule here was learned on work like that. If an article ever reads like a machine wrote it, reply to the email and a person at Meant reads it the same day.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What does “the foundation” mean?+

Four things, before any article. A site Google can open and understand, which is the fifteen checks. Every page actually showing on Google, which means telling Google about them and chasing the ones it skips. The title and summary Google shows for each page, matching what people type. And new pages that answer the questions customers ask, one every morning. Most sites have the last one at best, and usually not that.

How do I know it is working?+

Your dashboard keeps a timeline of every step: what it chose and why, what it wrote, where it published, what it linked, what Google did with each page. Fourteen and twenty-eight days after each article goes live, the reason it was chosen gets its answer on the same thread: where the article now ranks for that search, or whether the assistant that named your competitors names you now. If a bet did not pay off, it says so.

Will it change my site without asking?+

Only if you say so. When you start we ask whether articles should go live on their own or wait for you, and you can change it any time. Whichever you pick, you see what your page says now, what we suggest and why. Telling Google about your pages changes nothing on the site itself.

Is the content actually good, or just AI spam?+

Judge it before you pay: the first article is free. Each one is planned around your business, written to a standard that bans filler and the usual signs of machine writing, then checked in a second pass. Facts come from real, current sources; anything that cannot be backed up is cut. Read the example above.

I have never set anything up with Google. Is that a problem?+

No. Google keeps a free account for site owners, and connecting it takes one sign-in with the Google login you already have. If your site is not registered with Google yet, that takes about five more minutes, and we show you the steps, or a person at Meant does it for you. Until then we measure what we can and say plainly what is missing.

Can I connect it to my existing website?+

Yes. WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow and Ghost connect in a few minutes with step-by-step help, and a custom-built site takes a short job for your developer. Not sure what yours runs on, or nobody to ask? Press one button and we connect it for you. Squarespace is the one exception: it lets no tool write into it, ours included, so there you get each article ready to paste in. We never publish your articles on our own website: the page that brings you customers has to be on yours.

Will it sound like us?+

We learn your way of speaking from your own pages: how you name things, how formal you are, what you never say. You can change it, and every next article follows. Articles speak as your business: we, not they.

Will AI content hurt my Google rankings?+

Thin pages, invented facts and tricks to game Google hurt rankings, whoever wrote them. We do none of those: real research, real sources, links between your own pages, and no swapping links with other customers.

Do I need to know anything about SEO?+

No. Everything with a technical name is handled for you, and when something needs you, we say it in plain words. Your dashboard shows what was done, what is running by itself, and the few things only you can decide.

What is “Show Barq your work”?+

Take up to four photos of a job you finished and say or type a few words about it. Barq writes an article built around that job, with your photos in it, and it waits for your approval before it goes anywhere. It is included in the plan, up to three jobs a day. Articles about real work are the ones nobody else can copy, which is exactly what Google and AI assistants look for.

Which AI assistants do you check?+

Every week we put the questions your customers ask to ChatGPT and Claude, both with live web search, and record which businesses they name. Your dashboard shows who they name instead of you and how often, and the timeline tells you the week they start naming you. The free check before you sign up asks Claude. We do not claim to control what any assistant says; we show you what it says, and give it better pages and plain facts to read.

What languages does it write in?+

Fifteen, including Arabic, Greek, German, French and Spanish. You choose the language during setup; the research and the plan follow it.

Is there a contract or minimum commitment?+

No contract. Monthly is cancelled with one click; yearly saves two months. If the first paid month did not deliver what the plan promised, tell us within 14 days and we refund it. You keep every article.

What makes this different from ChatGPT or an agency?+

ChatGPT writes text when you ask it and only knows what you paste in. An agency looks once, sends documents, and invoices. Meant SEO reads your whole website first, keeps it in good standing with Google every day, fixes what your pages say about themselves, and writes, edits and publishes every morning.
